All-Season Play
Masonic Homes Kentucky communities are designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle from its 82-acre park-like setting with walking paths, fitness centers and holistic life enrichment activities. To further our mission, we’re embarking on a campaign to raise $2.5 million to build an all-season, multi-generational Activity Center on our Louisville Campus.
The multi-sports center will include pickle ball courts, and designated areas for shuffleboard, bocce ball, horseshoes and croquet. A dedicated indoor play area for Sproutlings Pediatric Day Care & Preschool at Kosair for Kids Center and an open-air pavilion will connect our communities with a unique space to gather, practice and play.
“Our goal is to provide access to more all-season activities for residents and children,” said Senior Vice President of Development & Fraternal Relations Rick Reeve. “The center also creates another opportunity for multi-generational connections between our young and our young at heart, which is one of the unique benefits to being a part of our communities.”
The development of the Activity Center within our Continuing Care Retirement Community offers residents a vital opportunity to enhance their overall well-being and support independence. Exercise and access to physical activity are known to mitigate the risk of chronic health conditions and even slow the progression of neurological disorders like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s.
The indoor component of the Activity Center provides Sproutlings with a year-round option for physical activity, complementing its 6,000-sq-ft outdoor playground thoughtfully designed to accommodate both ambulatory and wheelchair-assisted children. In addition, the pavilion will offer an outdoor classroom for Sproutlings.
