Brotherhood is a Way of Life for Masonic Leadership
This is a story of two brothers. They aren’t connected by blood or family lineage but by fraternal brotherhood. This is a story of two Pikes, members of the same college fraternity, and graduates of 1993. Today, they are members of the world’s largest and oldest fraternity, Freemasonry, and lead Kentucky’s largest and oldest not-for-profit long-term care community, Masonic Homes Kentucky.
J Scott Judy, (University of Kentucky, ’93) and Todd Lacy, (University of Kentucky, ’93) sit in adjacent offices with views out across Masonic’s 82-acre Louisville Campus. While J Scott’s office reads chief executive officer and Todd’s reads president, the laid back banter between their offices has helped continue a legacy of care to those who need it most.
Established more than 150 years ago as the first Masonic Home of its kind, it provided housing, meals, clothing and health care to widows and orphans of Masons impacted by the Civil War. Today, the community under the helm of J Scott and Todd, offers daily living and specialized services to people of all ages, regardless of affiliation, with campuses in Louisville, Shelbyville and Northern Kentucky.
Certified as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Masonic’s continuum of care includes independent living, skilled care, rehab, assisted living, memory care, personal care and home care, in addition to an inclusive learning environment for medically fragile and typical children. Masonic developed the region’s first Life Care community and its Shelbyville Campus is the most award-winning long-term care community in Kentucky.
J Scott and Todd’s commitment to their immediate and work families is fostered by the same virtues of the fraternity: integrity, intellect, success, high moral character and philanthropy. Their story will interest your alumni, both young and old.
